Dolpa
Dolpa region is distant region of Nepal and the central point of this area is Shey Phoksumdo National Park. The east and south of dolpa is surrounded by the Dhaulagiri and Churen Himal ranges and to the west by Jumla district. The site is dedicated to one of the countless goddesses of the Mahayana Buddhist pantheon, the Blue Tara. She is the most important of the three violent manifestations (Blue, Yellow, and Red) of Tara. In here benign Green and White form, she is very popular in Nepalese iconography. The Blue (Nil) Tara or Bkajata, Ugra (ferocious) Tara is also known in Nepal as Vajra Jogini, though she is not really a jogini or yogini at all . At this site and at one other, she is called Khadga (sword) Jogini because of the sword she brandishes in her upraised arm.
